You are welcome, Trisha. Have you ever came across a historian whose name is Fernand Braudel?
When I was in High School, my senior year, I wrote this paper on the slave trade and economy of the colonial Latin America (mostly Peru and Potosi in Bolivia) and he came across my path with this 3 humongous volumes on the history of capitalism. I think he also had this work on the different ways European societies that were living in the valleys v. High mountains approach development or something in that line.
I mean, I never read the whole thing, but it gave me this begging of a sort of organic understanding of the world, possibly even through time, plus it was wonderful because I kind of felt like I was there (sorry, cliche!).
I always told myself I would go back to him. Maybe at some point on time.
Can I ask wha is your book about?
