Unfortunately, your story is quite familiar for folks with chronic disease, usually elderly. But it seems that everyone in this country wants to be rich at the expense of someone else. I didn’t do the math, but I think there’s money around for all to be comfortable, but people imagine that if we redistribute wealth in a more equitable way, they will descend to the 5th circle of hell.
Many fail to notice the American dream is more often than not a fallacy. Most wealthy people had wealth before they were born. A lot had just good luck. Others good looks. But if you ask me, this (or the world) is not a meritocracy.
