Today, for reasons unknown to me, I remembered the old cowboy movies in which the caravan was enclosing itself in a circle while the Native Americans surrounded them, women and children while the men defended their families from the attackers.
I don’t recall those movies to make explicit the fact the European immigrants on the caravan were advancing on a land it was not theirs.
I mean, I’m all for sharing, but I think they fenced the country because they care about their private property. They just didn’t care about the Native Americans way of life.
But in all honesty I’ve never been a fan of cowboy movies, so maybe there was a section in which they explained all that and I just didn’t watch that.
The point is that they painted themselves as victims who had the necessity to exterminate their aggressors.
In any case, be careful with those quasi, almost racist articles going around. Not racist enough, but you can smell rotten. I think they are designed to attract reading time. Remember that even if we don’t clap, just by commenting you are increasing someone’s earnings by giving them reading time. And let’s be honest, even when their discourse is dangerous, the reality is that they will hush once they notice there’s no money into that.
(There was this writer who will remain unnamed who was doing that with a couple of pieces. I commented at first, but then I noticed this person was not getting much traction and didn’t write as much after that. The problem is that there are more articulate writers who may continue fanning the flames of hate. Thank you for denouncing this)
