Off topic. I didn't start to say "I love you" until my son started saying that to me (and my wife) as a teenager. I didn't noticed I almost never said that. Extremely unlikely occurrences. I still feel odd when I say it. I'm not sure if it is important or not to say, to be honest.

But you are right. Most interactions are based on the desire to obtain something. Even as I write this note, there is the interest in an interaction- a moment of communication with another person.

I wonder sometimes if part of the point is to which degree do we want to exercise that communication. To which point our interactions can be dialogue and not monologic discourses.

At risk of this turning into that...
