Maybe the problem is that none of us has been training at this since we were six.
And recognition plays such an important role, since a writer that publishes wants to be heard. And there are few things more concrete than the applause or someone saying “I’ll pay a dollar fifty or whatever for what you are writing, for your message.”
Who knows. Maybe is that few are willing to let go of the security of the day job, or we have so much in our plate that adding something else feels too much. But then, we also want to write.
