It seems the fascist right is getting well organized in this culture war deal.
I wonder if we spent way too much time writing poetry about birds and bees, or if we just lost track of well organized initiatives.
What puzzles me is that I don’t think queer people go into cis people and tell them, “hey, let me introduce you to my lifestyle.”
They just express it the same as when if I go on a bike ride I have cycling shorts.
It seems there’s a fear of extinction in all this narratives of the right.
For some, it may be true.
I mean, I see many of the poor among the White, who have seemingly adopted too much of the message “if you dream it you can do it” without the part, after dreaming you need to work for that goal.
I can see the disillusion among many of the American dream they been deal with. Lifestyles far from the Hollywood lifestyle we are told to live. Instead maybe humble homes that don’t live up to be Instagram trendy.
I don’t know to which extent seeing people from other races who achieved what they dream with causes them to be upset.
The question, without digressing too much is how do we create a narrative in which we tell “we understand you may not want to be queer. Cool. Now, if I’m having fun being queer while you are not, don’t ask me to be grumpy just because you are.”
No one is going after your children. No one is going after you. You want to join cool. Doesn’t mean I’m going to date you.
“If your children see your marriage and think this is horrible BS, hypocrisy and lies, I’m going to try something different,” it’s not the fault of queer people. If someone is curious and finds a more fulfilling way to explore their body and you don’t want to, cool. I’m sure roller coasters are great. I try them and I didn’t like them. That doesn’t mean I want to bulldoze Six Flags.
Sorry for my incoherent thoughts. I hope we can find a way in which we can denounce these dangerous lines of thought. Because one thing is certain for me. This doesn’t stop at women’s issues and LGBTQ. There’s more coming if we let them. Slaves anyone?
