It can be awe provoking

But, awe is too close to fear

It's like staring at the ocean while dipping your ankles on the shore

It feels good

It feels warm

Your body welcomes the moisture and the salt

But you know

Well too well

Of the depth

What you cannot see

How the wind blows over your surface

How your hair, your fingers

Can be caresses but also lashes of salt and sand

And it may be pleasurable

But it may hurt

And how many men do you know, Yael

Capable of walking over waves

Or calming storms

With the murmur

Of their voice?

Thank you for inspiring this little poem.
