I’m not sure why I run.
To hold my ego together, which even as the ego has such a bad rap I think it has a function in holding us together.
I always tell people running a marathon is mostly an act of selfishness (especially if you have a family) a half would do.
Of course, there are other reasons. It gives you the stamina to explore distances that otherwise would require multiple days or heavier gear.
And of course, to hopefully be able to one day overcome the fear of the distance.
