I would say that it was my first time doing this highway at night and as the mostly urban person I am, I never expected wildlife interfering with my life.
I passed other vehicles going slower than the speed limit and I was somehow puzzled because in NM most people go over the speed limit. But now, in retrospective, I think it makes sense driving at night in a mountain road, a slower speed would help in avoiding wildlife.
Now, would I have been going 60 instead of 70 had made a difference? Maybe. Possibly. I mostly missed the poor animal. But of course, as with everything in life, the circumstances could have been different and I could have hit it in a head on anyway.
Not trying to make up excuses. I was thinking the other day, what if whatever is we call God is there doing stuff that is beneficial or dangerous to us, but we are there in the middle of Its highway. And it is trying to avoid us.
Anyway, thank you for reading and stopping by, Curio.
