I think part of the problem is few people want the life they have and even fewer know what is the life they want.

In comparison with most 9 to 5 jobs, the life of the traveler is heaven. The freedom, the views, the adventure of not knowing what happens next, if the next smile will be the love of your life even if only for a night.

Few people understand the flies, the heat, the rain not stopping or not ever coming. The night by the road. Over and over.

And we all like fantasies. The fantasy that is the girl in the cover of a magazine, the 8 cylinder (ok, now electric) car, the roomie seat with a smiling stewardess in first class. Travel is another fantasy. Or is foreign enough that can be sold as another fantasy.

How the person who toils the 9 to 5 will not want at least to dream with a piece of the pie?

And then, someone with a greater smile and a six pack or a push up bra will tell everyone they can also banshee jump. Yes, even the guy with high cholesterol who goes for a walk when he walks from the couch to his car while dreams he sky dives with the girl in a bikini and a great smile.

Yeah, some people will skip on telling others about all the time they walk, and if the ride is on a Mercedes or Land Rover all wheel drive, I also want to do that.

Well, Freddie, I guess I will have to get my thoughts straight and maybe write more about this.

I think the short answer is, people want to make a buck and be admired and do so in an easy way. My 9 to 5 is in a Hospital where I’m a mix of glorified flight attendant and machine that cleans poop. If American Airlines, Quantas, the Four Seasons or the Hyatt would come to me and ask me to write content for them, have no doubt, I would do it.

If I could find 30k to buy a poetry book, I would sell it at $10 a piece.

The only thing that comes to mind, is share when we feel like sharing and provide the world with our view as well. If we have the need to speak up (as is the case with many of us), then let’s occupy our space. Hopefully we will be able to find people to support our rooming. To help connect cultures. To bring understanding, build bridges.

(It’s ok to be honest, I’m glad you speak your truth. Not all should be going with blinders pretending everything is great)
