I think love is often confused with romance or physical intimacy. I think there are areas of intersection but love is not romance or physical intimacy.
I love mountains, yet I don’t become physically intimate with the rocks. I love plants, yet I am not romantically attached to them.
When I was a teenager and was looking for that thing they called love, I looked mostly in books because, well, I’m not the attractive type. Point is, I found the best definition I can think of love in 1st Corinthians 13, and when you read it, there is not a line about relationships. Love is patience, love is kind, doesn’t keep record of wrongs and delights with the truth.
It doesn’t talk about marriage. Love is greater than marriage itself. Love is more than a relationship. Love is what made us and the only real tool we have to build others and ourselves.
Sorry, I think I got carried away. In any case, I guess is an act of love to yourself and patience to be celibate until the time is right.
