I don’t think yelling is constructive under any circumstance.

I can understand that people lose their temper and yell, however by the time people are yelling to one another, likely no one is listening to each other. So in my opinion by the time I realize I’m yelling, it’s best to say “let’s take a break, this discussion is going nowhere, let’s finish later.”

Yelling is a sort of impatience. An eagerness to be heard without wanting to listen. Yes, a kind of hurting, but an ineffective way of saying we are hurting.
