I agree. We see only what we want to see. And I think this is the problem with society now. We want to see saviors on people who are selfish and self centered. And we follow anyone who tells us it is not our fault but someone else’s.

In the personal aspect of relationships I usually settle with “do I feel comfortable around this person?”, “is there any flow of anything going on, preferably some mutual enjoyment of each other,” “are we being ourselves or a caricature of something else,” and “are we acting without malice?”

Many actions can be questionable. But ultimately I feel that intentionality is the most important thing. Are we doing something to purposely hurt someone else?

When my kids were little I used to feel very guilty for even going for a run!

I still do. Mostly when I don’t take my dog. But he is a beagle and barks at everything!!!!

Have a great day,
Pablo
