How do we nurture our dreams, Esther?
How do we work the soil where we will sow our hopes?
What is the compost we should use?

I know volcanic soil is best. Nurtured by the entrails of the earth.

Then, of course, fertilizers, they add nourishment to soil.

We try to rotate our crops and our soil.

But even if all this is done if no seeds are sow, nothing will grow.

***
Can anything grow in the furrow of sadness?

For sure nothing will grow in despair.

Is joy that volcanic soil?

I suspect passion is instead.

But how do we reach those earthy depths,
From which minerals and sulfur through the chimney vent?

No. I swear I didn’t want to be a destructive path, lava flowing, suffocating ashes falling

Yet, I wanted to be soil and create

Yet, I wanted to be earth

And hence, I boiled and erupted,

Hoping but burning

And I never knew

What was the right fuel

Thank you, Esther. As always, I appreciate your presence on the page.
