Hi, Ada.

Fortunately, I never experienced migraines. However during the time in which I was in nurse practitioner school, I feared migraines because they are so difficult to treat.

Being that said, I would dare to suspect that migraines, especially when linked to the menstrual cycle are probably a state in which the body is telling women "something important is going on here, I'm using a lot of energy, either to create, and if we don't create to mourn and then to rest (I hope I don't sound like women are reproduction machines, but the body wants to create and I suspect the woman must listen to its body, and if she decides not to create, to take the time to recover from that change in energy/cycle/equilibrium/whatever we want to call it.

But as we know, our society does not allow for those "lost days" that probably are not lost days. I feel that to call days lost to changes in the body mechanics/chemistry/hormonal equilibrium during the menstrual period is as if a male (or anyone) calls the hours spent sleeping "lost hours." Please let's not give ideas to our so call leaders about all the things employees could do if they would not get sleep.

On a different note, I am in San Francisco now. I've been thinking about Diana DiPrima. I still need to buy More Revolutionary letters from you guys, but I will try to to get a copy from DiPrima's book here. I don't know if I'll be successful, my schedule is horrible. But just to share about it, and I think the San Francisco where she lived is very different than this one, and that made me quite sad. Only a carcass is left of whatever is that she saw. Now, only symbols empty of meaning. And millionaires. Lots of millionaires.

I hope this migraines subside. I hope you don't have to wait until menopause for that. I wish our society would be more understanding, and leave space for women, during the time of the menstrual period, to do whatever it is that women ought to be during that time.

Thank you so much for including me and for the shout out. I really appreciate it.

Pablo
