For this guy I learned English.
I was reading Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles when in one of the chapters they had “So, we'll go no more a roving” in Spanish with a foot note with the original in English and I remember thinking the translation sounded horrible but in English it was glorious and had a melodic beauty associated with it. And I thought, it is impossible to properly translate poetry. And that is how I decided to start learning the language.
